Chichen Itza

&

Cenote

Jungle Hut

This is a multifaceted tour highlighting ancient cultural and archeological experiences along with a colonial city tour. The tour begins where you’ll be amazed by the great pyramid in the majestic ancient city of Chichen Itza which has been named one of the Seven Wonders of the World. These structures from pre-Columbian Mexico have retained the knowledge and power of the Mayan and Toltec people for centuries.

Away from the regular tourist paths you will enjoy an exhilarating swim in a cenote, a freshwater sinkhole that is unique to the Yucatan Peninsula. The cenotes were sacred to the ancient Mayans and they considered them as the entrances to their underworld known as Xibalba (chi-bal-ba).  After a refreshing swim we will partake in a regional meal prepared by native women from the community.

Finally, you will get to visit the beautiful colonial city of Valladolid which was inaugurated as one of Mexico’s Pueblos Magicos (Magical Town) in 2012.

It seems that there are an unlimited number of tour options to visit these places however the difference is that a portion of the proceeds go to the Dreams for Mayan Children foundation!
